Israel to organise songwriting camp for Eurovision 2023 entry

A songwriting camp is set to be held to create songs for Israel’s entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.

Israel will hold a songwriting camp for the first time. This will allow the songwriters to work together to create the possible Noa Kirel’s entry for Eurovision 2023. Noa Kirel’s manager is said to be behind this project where many former artists who have already worked with the Israeli representative have been guests. This type of event has already been organized in other countries such as Sweden, Norway and Bulgaria.

Although no names have been released, those believed to be Doron Medalie (Israel 2015, 2016, 2018), Ron Beaton, Jordi, Nitzan Kaykov, Itay Shimoni and Eitan Peled. Noa Kirel is expected to be actively involved in the process of creating her song.

Noa Kirel has been confirmed to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 held in the United Kingdom. Ten professional members from the fields of culture, music and television selected Noa in early August. Committee members reviewed 78 entries, evaluating their live experience in front of a large audience, as well as their popularity in the national music market.

Noa Kirel was born on April 10, 2001 in Ranana, central Israel. She released her debut single “Medbrim” (Talking) in 2015 and soon followed it with other hit singles, including her first English single “Drums” in 2019. She has won the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Israeli artist yearly 2017. She also performed at Miss Universe 2021, held in Eilat, southern Israel.

Her last single “Pantera” was released a few days after her revelation as a Eurovision singer.
