Georgia: Stephane Mgebrishvili Announced as First The Voice Georgia Juror

GPB has announced the first member of the judging lineup for The Voice Georgia, the nation’s selection for Eurovision 2023.

Stephane Mgebrishvili is the first member of the judging panel for The Voice Georgia to be revealed. Stephane has been involved in the music industry since the late 1990s and is best known as a member of Stephane and 3G, the group which won the Georgian selection for Eurovision 2009 but was disqualified from competing in Moscow for its politically influenced song “We Don’t Wanna Put In”.

The 43-year-old singer and composer is no stranger to television contests or being a judge having been a coach on Show Voice and a juror in X Factor and Talent.

This is the first time that The Voice Georgia has been used to determine the nation’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest. This will be the fifth series of the competition and the second series broadcast by GPB.

Georgia last held a national selection to determine its representative in 2020, when Georgian Idol was used to select their singer for the contest in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. It is currently not known how the Georgian song for the contest next May will be determined.

Circus Mircus represented Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song “Lock Me In”. They finished 18th and last in the Second Semi-Final scoring a total of 22 points, with 9 points from the televote and 13 points from the jury.
