Slovenia: Joker Out! to Eurovision 2023

RTVSLO has announced that Joker Out! will represent Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.

For only the second time RTVSLO has internally selected the Slovenian representative for the Eurovision Song Contest. Joker Out! will represent Slovenia in Liverpool, the pop-rock group was founded in 2016 and is formed of Bojan Cvjetićanin, Kris Guštin, Jan Peteh, Jure Maček and Martin Jurkovič.

The group had already started to work on a song for EMA before RTVSLO came directly to the group to offer them the chance to go to Eurovision. Speaking at a press conference with RTVSLO, frontman Bojan Cvjetićanin commented:

“We talked about the Eurovision Song Contest years ago, but we were waiting for the right moment, which is obviously now,”

Joker Out! have already selected the song they will perform, and will be performing in Liverpool in Slovenian. The Slovenian entry will be recorded this weekend in Hamburg, Germany. The song will be released on February 4.

LPS represented Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin with “Disko” and finished last in their Semi-Final. LPS scored a total of 15 points of which 8 points came from the Croatian televote.
