A record breaking audience for Junior Eurovision was recorded yesterday as RAI 1 broadcast the contest for the first time.
A total of 1,523,000 viewers watched the Final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 live from Yerevan, Armenia. This was the first time that RAI 1 has broadcast the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, with the contest having been on Rai Gulp, the Italian broadcasters channel since 2014.
The previous largest audience in Italy was in 2014 when 151,000 viewers watched Italy take victory on their debut. The audience share recorded for Junior Eurovision 2022 was 11.7%, the largest of any broadcaster reported today.
The viewing figures reported for Junior Eurovision 2022 are:
- France – 1,110,000 viewers – 8.9% share
- Italy – 1,523,000 viewers – 11.7% share
- Netherlands – 279,000 viewers – 1.7% share
- Spain – 1,183,000 viewers – 10.1% share
Chanel Dilecta represented Italy with “Bla Bla Bla” at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022. She placed in 11th place scoring a total of 95 points, the same total as 10th-placed Poland.
