Following Gustaph’s Eurosong victory, his Eurovision 2023 entry “Because of You” debuts at number 3 on the Ultratop 50.
Gustaph’s Eurosong 2023 winning song and Eurovision 2023 entry “Because of You” has debuted at number 3 on the Belgium Ultratop 50 Flanders charts. This marks Gustaph’s first chart appearance since 2000 when his last chart entry “Gonna Lose You”, which was released under the name Steffen peaked at number 22.
Of the six other acts from Eurosong 2023 Cherine and The Starlings also reached the Flanders Ultratop 50. Cherine reached number 41 with her entry “Ça m’ennuie pas” while The Starling’s entry “Rollercoaster” reached 46th place. In this week’s charts, former Eurovision participant Rosa Linn grows her current chart streak to 26 weeks with her Eurovision 2023 entry, “Snap” while 2021 winner Måneskin single “The Loneliest” made it to number 20 in Flanders and spent its 2nd week at number one in the Wallonia Ultratop.
The final of Eurosong 2023 took place on January 14 in Paleis 12/Palais 12 in Brussels. The show saw 7 acts competing to win the right to represent Belgium in Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. Ultimately Gustaph won Eurosong 2023 with his song “Because of You”. Gustaph, the winner, was selected by a combination of an expert jury and public voting. In total, 892,781 viewers watched Eursong 2023 on Één, making it the most-watched show of the day in Belgium.
Gustaph will represent Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool with the song “Because of You”.
