🇳🇴 Norway: Who Is Alessandra?

The sixth artist in our Who Is series for Eurovision 2023 is Alessandra from Norway.

Alessandra Watle Mele, better known as just Alessandra, was born on September 5 2002 in Pietra Ligure in northwestern Italy to an Italian father and a Norwegian mother. At the age of 12, she won the fifth edition of VB Factor, a local talent show in the Val Bormida region. After graduating high school in 2021, she moved to Porsgrunn in southern Norway to live with her grandparents. She later moved to Lillehammer to study at the Lillehammer Institute of Music Production and Industries.

In 2022, Alessandra took part in the fifth season of The Voice – Norges beste stemme. She made it to the first live show before being eliminated.

Alessandra was chosen to represent Norway at Eurovision 2023 after winning Melodi Grand Prix 2023. She received the highest score from both the international juries and the public vote.

The song that Alessandra will perform in Liverpool is called “Queen of Kings”. It was written and composed by Henning Olerud, Stanley Ferdinandez, Linda Dale and Alessandra herself.

Alessandra will perform in the first half of the first semi-final on May 9.
