🇮🇸 Iceland: Voting Records Broken in Söngvakeppnin 2023 Final

RÚV has revealed that voting records were broken during the final of Söngvakeppnin 2023 last night.

Just under 260,000 votes were cast during the final of Söngvakeppnin 2023, the highest number of votes cast ever in the Icelandic selection process. Viewers at home were able to vote up to 40 times for the act they wanted to see represent Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.

RÚV will reveal the full results of Söngvakeppnin 2023 in the coming days, showing the exact number of votes cast across all three shows. In 2022 a total of 136,633 votes were cast by the public across two rounds of voting.

The results of first round were as follows (superfinalists in bold):

  1. Sigga Ózk – “Dancing Lonely”
  2. BRAGI – “Sometimes the World’s Against You”
  3. Celebs – “Doomsday Dancing”
  4. Diljá – “Power”
  5. Langi Seli og Skuggarnir – “OK”

The results of the superfinal were then decided solely by public voting. The results of the superfinal were as follows:

  1. Diljá – “Power” 1st
  2. Langi Seli og Skuggarnir – “OK” 2nd

Diljá will compete in the first half of the second semi-final on May 11.
