Spanish broadcaster RTVE has revealed that the format for Benidorm Fest 2024 will be announced on July 26.
On July 26 a press conference in the city of Alicante, attended by directors from RTVE, Generalitat Valenciana and the Benidorm City Council will present the format for Benidorm Fest 2024.
The broadcaster has previously announced that the selection will consist of a maximum of 16 songs, with six backup artists chosen in case of a change in circumstances. Submissions are already open and close on October 10.
Benidorm Fest 2024 will for the third time choose the Spanish entry for Eurovision and who will follow in the steps of previous winners, Chanel and Blanca Paloma, to represent Spain in Eurovision 2024 in Sweden.
Blanca Paloma represented Spain at Eurovision 2023 with her song “Eaea”. She performed 8th in the Grand Final, ending on 17th place out of 26 with a total of 100 points (5 public votes and 95 jury votes).
