Today: Eesti Laul 2023 Semi-Final One, Dora 2023 Songs Released & More

Five countries are in action today, with three national selection shows and two sets of song reveals.

The key times for today are:

The entries will first be revealed on the HR 2 radio show Svijet diskografije, which will be broadcast between 14:00 and 16:00 CET, you can listen here. The official music videos for the entries will be released on Youtube later that same day. The final of Dora 2023 will be held on February 11 in Opatija.

Estonia’s search for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 commences this evening live from the Viimsi Artium. Ten artists are competing for five places in the Grand Final.

As in previous editions, voting will be held over two rounds. In the first round, all ten songs will be voted on by a jury and the public, and the four songs that receive the highest combined score will qualify. A second round of voting will then be held for the remaining six songs with the public selecting the fifth finalist.

The running order is:

  1. JANEK – “House of Glass”
  2. Ellip – “Pretty Girl”
  3. Kaw – “Valik” (Choice)
  4. MERLYN – “Unicorn Vibes”
  5. MIA – “Üks samm korraga” (One step at a time)
  6. Neon Letters & Maiko – “Tokimeki” (Palpitation)
  7. OLLIE – “Venom”
  8. Andreas – “Why Do You Love Me”
  9. Bedwetters – “Monsters”
  10. Anett x Fredi – “You Need to Move On”

The first Semi-Final will see a performance of “Muretut meelt ja südametuld” featuring Janika who competed in Kvalifikacija za Millstreet, she will be joined by Minimal Wind. 2023 marks 30 years since the first song competed to represent Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest.

In addition, during Semi-Final One, rappers Chlicherik & Mäx will perform, as well as host’s Tõnis Niinemets and Grete Kuld. You can watch the show live here.

The live shows of The Voice Georgia commence this evening following two weeks of battle rounds. Twenty-four singers currently remain in contention to represent Georgia in Liverpool at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.

The judges and their singers in the contest are:

  • Stephane Mgebrishvili – Likuna Tutisani, Dato Rusadze, Saba Chachua, Anka Tatarashvili, Mariam Kokeladze, Nini Asiliani
  • Dato Evgenidze – Giorgi Datiashvili, Allegro, Kakha Aslamazashvili, Ani Nozadze, Gvantsa Kupatadze, Giorgi Putkaradze
  • Sopho Toroshelidze – Tina Datikashvili, Sopho Batilashvili, Mariam Toronjadze, Lika Siradze, Salome Tsintsadze, Ana Vashakmadze
  • Dato Porchkhidze – Tsotne Barbakadze, Iru Khechanovi, Ekaterine Mdivani, Tako Kakalashvili, Erekle Turkadze, Irakli Kapanadze

Tonight the singers will be performing head to head again within their teams, with the public determining who will progress to the next round. Watch the contest live here.

Belgium – Eurosong 2023 – Song Selection – Show Four – gala dragot & Gustaph – 19:45 CET

The Belgian selection for Eurovision 2023 continues tonight, with the fourth of five song selection shows ahead of the final on January 14.

In these programmes broadcast nightly between January 9 and 13 at 19:45 CET, each artist will present their two potential entries in full in front of the other artists from a remote location in Tournai in western Belgium. The artist will then choose which one of their two entries they will perform in the final on January 14.

Gala Dragot will perform both of her songs; “Emotion Ollie” and “T’inquiète”, tonight and will choose which one she will perform in the final. While, Gustaph will perform the first of his two songs; “Because of You” and “The Nail”. You can watch the show live here.

Finland – UMK 2023 – Robin Packalen – “Girls Like You” – Song released – 23:00 CET

The second of the seven songs competing in Uuden Musikiin Kilpailu 2023 will be released this evening at 23:00 CET.

Robin Packalen’s song “Girls Like You” will be released on YouTube by YLE. The competing songs will be released on separate days, starting from January 12 through to January 20. The release order for the songs is as follows:

  • January 13 – Benjamin
  • January 16 – Robin Packalen
  • January 17 – Lxandra
  • January 18 – Käärijä
  • January 19 – KUUMAA
  • January 20 – Portion Boys
