Eurovision 2022: Semi-Final Allocation Draw Pots Revealed

The pots for the Eurovision 2022 Semi-Final Allocation Draw Pots have been revealed.

The 36 semi-finalists have been divided into six pots based on based on historical voting patterns as calculated by Digame, the official televoting partner of Eurovision. This is done to reduce the effect of neighbour voting and to increase suspense in the semi-finals.

The Eurovision 2022 Semi-Final Allocation Draw will take at 12:00 CET on January 25 at Palazzo Madama. The Palazzo Madama was the first Senate of the Kingdom of Italy until 1864. Since 1997 it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site and currently houses the Turin City Museum of Ancient Art. The draw will be streamed live on the official Eurovision Youtube channel and on Rai Play.

The draw will be hosted by television presenters Carolina di Domenico and Gabriele Corsi. During the ceremony, Ahmed Aboutaleb, Mayor of Rotterdam will hand over the Host City Insignia to Stefano Lo Russo, Mayor of Turin.

After the Host City Insignia Exchange, the host nation Italy and the remaining Big Five countries (France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom), will each be allocated a Semi-Final in which they must vote. Following this, the 36 semi-finalists will each be allocated a semi-final, along with which half of their semi-final they will perform in. Once all of the entries have been selected, the Eurovision production team will decide the running order of the semi-finals.

Turin will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 on May 10, 12 and 14 2022. The host venue of the 2022 contest is PalaOlimpico. The arena was opened in 2005 and has hosted numerous concerts and sporting events, including the ice hockey tournaments during the 2006 Winter Olympics.
