The seventh artist in our Who Is series for Eurovision 2023 is Blanca Paloma from Spain.
Blanca Paloma Ramos Baeza was born on June 9 1989 in Elche in southeastern Spain. Her sister Sara Ramos Baeza took part in Eurojunior 2003, the Spanish selection for Junior Eurovision 2003. After graduating from Miguel Hernández University of Elche with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Blanca moved to Madrid to pursue a career in theatre in 2013.
Blanca composed music for the RTVE television series “Lucía en la telaraña”. She also performed “Secreto de agua” for the soundtrack, which would later become her entry for Benidorm Fest 2022. She finished fifth in the final. After Benidorm Fest, she released another single “Niña de fuego”.
Blanca was selected to represent Spain at Eurovision 2023 after winning Benidorm Fest 2023. She finished in first place with the professional jury and public vote and finished second with the demoscopic jury.
The song that Blanca will perform in Liverpool is called “Eaea”. The song was written and composed by José Pablo Polo, Álvaro Tato and Blanca herself.
Blanca will perform in the Grand Final on May 13.
